NOVEMBER 2025

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted anything. There’s so much to tell you, and yet telling you everything would sound like a ramble. Maybe I will leave some of those thoughts for another time. I don’t know how many of you know this, but I moved to a different state over the summer. Moving can be stressful for anyone, but we had a few circumstances that asked me to be strong. I know there was a lot of growth to be had in that time.

Although it was challenging, we came out on the other side in such a rich situation. No, we didn’t get a lot of money. In fact, we spent every last penny of our savings on the move. We are currently in the exact situation we wanted to find ourselves in. When I look around me, I can’t believe how kind my God has been.

I’ll be honest, in the midst of the chaos, I kept wondering if we made a mistake. I was anxious and complaining in my heart. To keep my flesh under my control, I would start listing what I was grateful for any time I felt like complaining. One by one, I watched my Lord answer my concerns with blessings.

Among the many blessings is the contract I received with a publishing company. Not only did they want my children’s book, but they also wanted to partner with me on multiple books in the future. Another blessing is the church we found. I will say that the bible belt is pretty shallow. I miss the deep and rich dive into each passage. So, stumbling across this church was a great answer to my prayers.

If you didn’t know, I was also offered a job out here with my husband. Although it was a great experience, my health has taken a huge dip. Which leaves me with the main thing I wanted to announce in this letter. It has become abundantly clear that my physical health isn’t what I would like. In hopes of making some money without making myself bed-bound, I have to change my approach. I will be quitting my job shortly and focusing on writing.

I will be posting my short stories and poems on KDP (Amazon). I will be removing my content from this platform and selling it on Amazon. I’ve already edited, updated, and uploaded “Sensor” (The corrupted series). I plan on doing this with most of my old content, as well as making new content.
In the list of things you can look out for is a devotional on infertility. I have also written several poems over the year. I never got around to uploading them, but I plan on making them a collection on Amazon. For now, I plan on writing newsletters here. Updating you on the coming releases and so much more. Thank you all for your support!

Hi, I am R.D. Jess. I am a christian writer and postpartum doula. My relationship with my God is not a religion but a state of who I am. I love being there for others and find that writing the hard truth is the best way to make people feel less alone.
