Soft pink flowers upon a struggling branch.
-by jessica Railsback-
Delightful wonders the heart can’t quench.
The succulent life of growing a plant.
Something so small moves the soul like an ant.
Breath of life leads on to the strength of the heart.
Its simplicity is a beautiful art.
Nature is the greatest symphony to the ear.
A wellspring of healing stirs a heart away from fear.
Quiets a soul after a long journey.
The peaceful spring after winter’s flurry.
A heart mended is often filled with tenderness.
Life sprouts something altogether precious.
The rebirth of life’s cycle blooms a flower.
Reaching out to touch the golden beams of the sun’s hour.
Life gives birth to more life.
It awakens like an infant in the hands of a midwife.
Rooted in the ever-grounding earth.
The soul planted in a garden needs no longer to search.
I have a succulent on my desk that is blooming with the sweetest pink flowers.
Thank you for reading -Jessica Railsback.
It was my muse as I wrote “Soft Pink Flowers”.
I have recently become obsessed with planting and trying all sorts of new things.
So as I sat at my desk, I marveled at how poetic this single plant was.
Its branches were all wonky from my neglect during my health crises.
Now that I felt so much better, it was growing flowers and sprouting new plants.
The plant looked like a symphony of life… Life, that I now feel pulse through my veins.
It feels so good to be able to do normal things once again.
I hope you enjoy the poem as much as I enjoyed the moment that created it.
