Their is a bridge and a gap
R.D. jess
But don’t let it become a trap.
If you need separation or distance,
You are not obligated to nonsense.
Check for wisdom and discernment.
Before you chose resentment.
Check your heart and find it right.
See if your action is led by the light.
Sometimes virtuous pursuit is not the answer.
Christ himself handed evil over to it’s manner.
Sometimes the bridge must fall and leave a gap.
Not to cause an embittered slap.
But to let them learn on their own.
That God is on the throne.
While you protect your home,
From the sin that was shown.
You can forgive and move on.
It is not a sin to choose not to fawn.
It feels like you have left a gap,
But you have wisely opened a map.
I can’t promise that you won’t feel sorrow,
That even if peace comes tomorrow,
I Can’t promise that it will stay;
Or that they won’t slay.
In fact burning a bridge is more painful.
As you quickly learn who is less than faithful.
You learn who is truly on your side.
And who was just along for the ride.
Nice doesn’t mean you become a doormat.
Nor does it mean you should change to a rat.
It is not wrong to recognize what is lethal.
Self protection does not mean you are evil.
Should a city let the Natzis in,
Just to prove they are forgiven?
Sometimes in proving forgiveness we sin,
Fearing what others will begin to spin.
At times it will feel immoral,
Especially in the midst of quarrels.
Check your heart and see it right.
And hold onto it with all your might.
