WHERE YOUR STEPS DWELL

Do not dwell where you don’t want to go
Our thoughts are where we sell our souls.
If you ever fight a battle it starts in the mind.
Where belief and action are intertwined.
Where you look is where you will walk.
It is a foundation, a building block.
A kingdom built on strife,
Or a wellspring of life.
You get to choose, believe it or not.
That your thoughts could make you rot.
Bitterness grows resentment.
Only if you give it an appointment. 
Our thoughts can also be directed.
Often needing to be corrected.
Careful with the advice you receive.
It can altar how things are perceived. 
What you perceive is what you believe.
Often causing lies to be easily received.
Careful with the path you chose to take.
It is more than just a thought at stake.
Darkness feeds into Darkness.
Piercing hearts with its sharpness.
Corrupting even the purest thought.
Without needing to be sought.
Seeds grow to plants when nurtured.
Gossip grows when murmured.
Where is it that you want to go?
Think twice before you begin to sow.
Your thoughts will direct your steps.
Choose carefully, what are your precepts.
Where you choose your steps to dwell.
Will determine whether or not things go well. 
It could lead you blindly off a cliff.
Or it could scare you straight stiff.
It could lead you in fields of peace.
Or your peace could come with a lease.
