CHRISTIAN GRIEF

Grief shall enter a Christians’ home,
But should not let the heart roam.
Corruption of the heart starts in the mind.
When one conforms to mankind.
Let your sorrows be grieved,
So that your soul may be relieved.
But don’t let grief grow bitter,
For doubt is a hard hitter.
Unresolved grief makes the heart corrupt.
Set sail to self destruct.
Lament in order to heal,
But don’t make sorrow a deal.
Godly loss results in praise,
Not in an endless haze.
Let it enter but don’t let it stay.
For unguided grief can lead to decay.
But Godly grief gives relief,
And the strength to believe.

Hi, I am R.D. Jess. I am a christian writer and postpartum doula. My relationship with my God is not a religion but a state of who I am. I love being there for others and find that writing the hard truth is the best way to make people feel less alone.
