THE DESERT PATH

On this desert path I walk.
The vultures circle and squawk.
The path is dusty and dry,
No tears left for me to cry.
Guide my feet to paradise.
Let me forget these lies.
I trust the end will come.
Walking has made me numb.
I pray I don’t wander,
When oasis is just yonder.
On this desert path I walk.
Let me walk the talk.
Let me be strong,
For this road is long.

Hi, I am R.D. Jess. I am a christian writer and postpartum doula. My relationship with my God is not a religion but a state of who I am. I love being there for others and find that writing the hard truth is the best way to make people feel less alone.
