Joy, What does that really mean?
Joy was not wrapped up in presents for you or me.
Joy was not found in the songs we used to sing.
Countless parties left me thinking.
No, joy is more than all these things.
It is not warped up in ribbons of green.
Nor, does it come with Christmas decorating.
Joy is found in the virgins’ baby.
A humble king who sought to redeem.
Joy is freedom from the wicked slavery.
Joy is found in the anticipating.
Like the presents under the tree.
We long for the goodness it will bring.
Joy, what does that really mean?
Joy are you an invitation to be redeemed?
are you a blessing, sensation or something unseen?
Joy are you to be waited or already given?
Something tells me the answer is not hidden.
Joy is not given for a specific season.
Joy comes from knowing the reason.
It is knowing one day it will come to completion.
that today is not forever your destination.
