Winner /Genna Eberhard .

Thanks for sharing your written work, it is always fun to share this love of the written art.

The winner is Genna Eberhard !

I loved how she painted the picture while allowing a sweet song of the words to flow. Which is great since it is written as a song. It really spoke to my heart and I hope it does the same for any of you reading this now. Thank you Genna for sharing!

MOUNTAIN HALL

I sat in my mountain hall
With my ancestors’ statues of stone.
They gazed absently at the ground
They were lost in lands of their own.
A prophet called for blood at
the barred castle gate.
He recited from lines of old.
He declared my sealed fate.

Forgive me, forgive me!
I’ve fallen again
For a woman of stone whose hand I didn’t own.
Don’t leave me, don’t leave me!
That separation I couldn’t stand.
In Your presence is more life than what I choose again and again.

I laid on the grass
My tears sank quickly.
My fingers turned to roots.
My skin turned sickly.
A baby was planted in
The bosom of the earth;
A son was lost that day,
A spring in the dirt.

Forgive me, forgive me!
I’ve fallen again
For a woman of stone whose hand I didn’t own.
Don’t leave me, don’t leave me!
That separation I couldn’t stand.
In Your presence is more life than
What I choose again and again.

And yet, You promise a son;
A ruler; a Messiah;
A King of Kings;
One called Jedidiah.

A Royal Heir
Who will build You Your temple;
And a Promised One
Woven of Spirit and Cloth.

The King over nations
Whose footstool is
My mountain hall.

So, forgive me, forgive me!
But your people walk with hearts of stone.
Dwell in me, dwell in me!
This separation I cannot stand.
In Your presence is more life…
In Your presence is more life…
In Your presence is True Life.

I am a lover of writings and over the years I have collected a handful of poems and stories I have written. The more I wrote the more I realized I should do something with it, besides putting it in a box.
