On Friday, April 2, 2021. 5 yr old Natalie went in to have a cardiac ablation to fix a form of SVT. Her family knew she would need this surgery, when she was only a few months old. I have had the privilege to work with Natalie a few times over the past few years. She is a really sweet and brave little girl. The reason I am bringing this to your attention is because of this. 2 hours into the surgery, her heart was perforated. CPR was performed for 15 min and her heart was restarted. The concern is for her brain since she was without oxygen for so long. Natalie has since been in the hospital recovering from all that has happened and that process has not been pretty. She is Struggling to breath and is under a lot of sedation.
Please help spread the word about Natalie and her family! We received this message from Natalie’s father, Curtis. “I know this has been a lot for all of you guys. You’ve probably prayed more than ever which is such a huge blessing. Natalie sure has a way of bringing people together. Kind of funny but Natalie asked Deann on Thursday night before the surgery, “hey mommy do you think a quarter of a million people are praying for me?” What kid comes up with that number? I was laughing with the anesthesiologist, who is a Christian and was instrumental in saving her life, and he said I bet we are getting close. Thanks for being a part of that quarter-million!” How sweet it would be if when Natalie leaves the hospital, she has her question answered with a massive group of family, friends, and even complete strangers who have been passionately and faithfully praying for her!

Sorry for my lack of words, but I have been having a hard time with them since April 2nd if you could understand. I wanted to write something giving a picture to what might be going on in their minds right now, but I still haven’t cleared mine. So here is a poem I wrote for Natalie before Her surgery on April 2nd and the bible verse that inspired it.
Wait for the Lord;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.I think this applies more than ever to her parents now.
Take courage Natalie, God’s holding you in His hands.
He will be with you in the surgery room, making sure everything goes according to His plan.
God’s see’s your fears even if no one understands. He will walk with you to the very end.
Don’t worry, He won’t let go of your hand. This whole situation is under His command.
Take courage Natalie, God’s holding you in His hands.Jessica Smith/ Renewed Dream
